The rapid growth of artificial intelligence is driving unprecedented global demand for compute and GPU infrastructure. Positioned at the heart of this transformation, Nscale is delivering the platforms that will enable the next decade of innovation.

Working closely with the world's most advanced AI technology providers — including Microsoft and NVIDIA — Nscale integrates next-generation compute hardware and GPU clusters across both partner and self-delivered facilities. This is a unique opportunity to join Nscale's journey, play a pivotal role in delivering transformative AI infrastructure, and help shape a company designed to scale rapidly across North America, Europe, and beyond.

About the Role

We are seeking a Gas Supply Manager to lead the natural gas procurement, contracting, and logistics function supporting the Monarch Compute Campus. With Phase 1 alone consuming gas at the scale of a mid-size utility, reliable and cost-effective fuel supply is mission-critical to Monarch's economics and uptime.

Based in Houston, you will originate and structure supply arrangements with producers and midstream counterparties, manage day-to-day scheduling and nominations, and partner closely with the Pipeline, Risk, and Operations teams to ensure that Monarch never runs short.

This role sits at the intersection of commercial, operations, and risk management, with high executive visibility and a direct line to Nscale's Chief Power and Energy Officer.

What You'll be Doing

Supply Strategy & Origination
- Develop and execute Monarch's natural gas supply strategy across producers, marketers, and midstream counterparties.
- Originate, negotiate, and close gas supply, transportation, storage, and balancing agreements.
- Build a diversified, resilient supply portfolio aligned with operational and risk objectives.

Contracting & Commercial Structuring
- Negotiate NAESB base contracts, transaction confirmations, transportation service agreements, and asset management deals.
- Partner with Legal, Risk, and Finance to ensure commercial structures align with Nscale's risk appetite and capital structure.
- Manage counterparty onboarding, credit, and KYC processes.

Scheduling, Nominations & Logistics
- Own day-ahead and intraday nominations, scheduling, and balancing across all delivery points.
- Coordinate closely with interstate pipelines (e.g., TETCO, Columbia, Rover, REX) and LDCs serving the Monarch microgrid.
- Build redundancy and contingency procedures for supply disruptions, weather events, and operational upsets.

Counterparty & Performance Management
- Manage commercial relationships with producers, marketers, pipelines, and storage operators.
- Track contract performance, deliveries, imbalances, and penalties; drive corrective action where required.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key counterparties.

Reporting, Optimization & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Produce supply, cost, and reliability reporting for senior leadership.
- Partner with the Gas Risk Analyst on hedge execution and physical/financial alignment.
- Continuously optimise the supply portfolio for cost, reliability, and flexibility.

About You

- 8+ years of experience in natural gas supply, marketing, scheduling, or midstream commercial roles.
- Strong commercial network across Appalachian and broader US gas markets.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating NAESB and transportation agreements.
- Solid working knowledge of FERC Order 587 / nomination cycles, EBB systems, and pipeline operations.
- Comfortable in an ETRM environment (Allegro, Endur, ZE PowerSuite, or similar).
- Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to balance cost, reliability, and risk.
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, or related field.

Why This Role Matters

The Monarch Compute Campus is Nscale's flagship North American AI factory: a 2,250+ acre hyperscale campus in Mason County, West Virginia, and the first state-certified AI microgrid district in the United States. At full build-out, Monarch is engineered to deliver multi-gigawatt, off-grid power to support the world's most demanding AI training and inference workloads, anchored by an MOU with Microsoft for 1.35 GW of capacity using NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 GPUs.

Phase 1 — a 2.16 GW natural gas-fired facility comprising three H-shaped data center buildings and 864 Caterpillar reciprocating natural gas engines — is targeted for initial operation in early 2027. Monarch represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build mission-critical AI infrastructure in close partnership with Caterpillar, Babcock & Wilcox, Powell Industries, and the State of West Virginia.
