About the Role
We’re hiring a Legal Counsel to support the legal aspects of Nscale’s data centre infrastructure projects in Norway.
In this role, you will work closely with internal teams across legal, construction, engineering, procurement, commercial, and operations to support the development and delivery of Nscale’s growing infrastructure footprint. You will advise on a broad range of construction and commercial matters relating to the design, build, and operation of mission-critical facilities.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with the business, managing complex legal agreements, and supporting fast-moving infrastructure projects in a high-growth environment.
What you'll be doing
- Provide legal support across the development, design, construction, and commissioning of data centre projects in Norway.
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction-related agreements, including EPC, consultant, supplier, commercial contracts and contractor agreements.
- Support legal aspects of project development activities, including procurement and vendor engagement.
- Identify and manage legal and commercial risks across infrastructure projects in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Assist with the development of scalable contract templates, processes, and legal frameworks to support project delivery.
- Support negotiations with suppliers, contractors, commercial contracts and infrastructure partners.
- Review and advise on commercial agreements relating to construction, operations, and infrastructure services.
- Assist with colocation and infrastructure-related contractual arrangements.
- Provide pragmatic legal advice that supports commercial objectives while protecting the business from risk.
- Help ensure contracts and project activities align with applicable legal and regulatory requirements in Norway.
- Partner closely with teams across construction, finance, procurement, operations, and commercial functions.
- Support the management of external counsel and other legal service providers where required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across legal and infrastructure processes.
- Assist with internal governance, reporting, and contract management activities.
About You
- Norwegian Qualified lawyer with experience in construction, infrastructure, projects, and broader commercial contracts
- Experience advising on non-contentious construction matters and commercial agreements
- Familiarity with large-scale infrastructure, industrial, energy, or data centre projects is beneficial
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
- Ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders and fast-paced projects
- Comfortable managing competing priorities in a dynamic growth environment
- Interest in technology, digital infrastructure, and AI-driven industries
- Experience working with other scandinavian countries is advantageous
- Fluent in Norwegian and English, with other scandinavian languages considered advantageous
