Augment Code develops an AI coding platform for software teams, built around a context engine that maintains a live understanding of an entire codebase to power chat, code completion, IDE and CLI agents, and a code review agent. Founded in 2022 by Igor Ostrovsky and Guy Gur-Ari and led by CEO Scott Dietzen, the company is headquartered in Palo Alto. Augment emerged from stealth in April 2024 with a $227M Series B led by Sutter Hill Ventures at a $977M valuation, with Index Ventures, Innovation Endeavors, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Meritech Capital, bringing total funding to $252M.
